My name is Martyn Dipper and I’m proud to be the senior instructor for MPowered Martial Arts.
Since June of 1994, we have provided our members with a road map to success. This is based on self-defence, building confidence and improving their goal-setting skills. We use Martial Arts as the tool to deliver this.
The first club in our group was Calne in Wiltshire which started in June 1994. Teaching to a small mixed group of people of all ages. In January 1996 Wantage opened up. The collective name for these Tae Kwon-Do schools became Martyn Dipper Schools of Tae Kwon-Do. Didcot soon joined our group in 1998 and backed up the Wantage class in the Oxfordshire area. Later on, Swindon joined our group in January 2004. Shortly after this, in April 2004 Newbury & Thatcham in the Berkshire area joined us.
I made a commitment back in 1994 to serve and empower the community by teaching children and adults the confidence, leadership, and fitness skills that can only be achieved through martial arts. Our classes and Tae Kwon-Do schools are all about our students, I felt uncomfortable putting my name at the front, purely because it was never about me. It was with this in mind that during January 2021 we rebranded to MPowered Martial Arts.
We are fortunate to have a fantastic group of people in our teaching team, each bringing different skills and assets that complement the group and support our students so well.
We are also fortunate that we get so many amazing opportunities for our students too.
One of our students appeared on the CITV programme Dare Master @ Home for the Bottle Cap challenge. This all happened in 2020 when the country was in lockdown, but we were still able to make it happen!
